Google Presents Gemini AI Extension for YouTube Music Service

Google introduces Gemini AI extension for YouTube Music service. With this extension, users can ask for song suggestions or music-related information, and Gemini will provide better answers by including song previews from YouTube Music. Previously, Google only offered first-party app extensions and services for chatbots, including for Google Flights, Google Hotels, Google Maps, Google Workspace, and YouTube.

Users can access these songs easily via the YouTube Music application or the web portal. The extension also allows Gemini to access user information on YouTube Music, such as their playlists and music preferences, as reported by Android Authority.

If your device doesn't have the YouTube Music app, the song will appear on the YouTube Music web portal. Google says the YouTube Music extension for Gemini will let users play, search and discover favorite songs, artists, playlists and more. By activating this extension, Gemini can also access your information on YouTube Music, such as songs in your library, songs you like and dislike, as well as marking favorites, playlists, and more.

Shorts Additional Income

YouTube announced the short video format "Shorts" has achieved success with more than 25 percent of its creators earning income from Shorts. Shorts now record more than 70 billion impressions every day, showing rapid growth despite a questionable start.

By opening revenue sharing for Shorts a year ago, YouTube is giving more than a quarter of creators in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) the opportunity to make money from Shorts.

The success of Shorts not only opens up new opportunities for creators, but also provides a new nuance to the YouTube platform, as quoted by Phone Arena.

While some users may not fully appreciate Shorts appearing in their feeds, Shorts remain an important part of YouTube and promise significant earning potential for creators in the future as more creators get involved.

Exclusive Shorts

YouTube launched an exclusive version of Shorts for paying members that allows content creators to share short videos exclusively with paying viewers. The new feature adds value for paid customers by giving them access to additional content such as special announcements, product launches or exclusive offers.

Creators can now use Members Only Shorts for a variety of purposes, such as Q&A sessions, behind-the-scenes looks, or sneak peeks of upcoming content. The move comes as TikTok expands its subscription offerings to more content creators.
